Cutter Hodierne
Just before Cutter Hodierne was born, his parents sold everything they owned, quit their jobs, bought a 32-foot cutter-rigged sailboat for which he is named, and spent the first 3 years of his life sailing in the South Pacific ocean. Cutter is his real name.
At age 22, he toured the world with U2 on the biggest rock n' roll tour in music history, as their ‘filmmaker on the road’, directing online content for the U2-360 Tour. After this, Cutter traveled to East Africa to direct the short film ‘Fishing Without Nets’, which tells the story of a young, struggling Somali pirate. The short won numerous awards including the Grand Jury Prize in Short Filmmaking at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and Cutter was named one of the top 25
New Faces of Independent Film by Filmmaker Magazine.
A feature length version of ‘Fishing Without Nets’ was supported at the Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab and in 2012 Cutter teamed up with VICE Media to expand ‘Nets’ into Hodierne’s feature film directorial debut.
